About

I’ve always been drawn to creativity. Ever since I was a kid, I loved drawing and painting. That love eventually led me to study illustration in college. But after graduating, like many people, I shifted focus to finding a stable job that paid the bills. I promised myself that by the time I turned 30, I’d finally pursue my passion full-time. Until then, I kept art on the side—taking on the occasional freelance job, but never fully committing.
I found myself working a comfortable 9–5 corporate job. It was stable and predictable—but deep down, I knew it wasn’t fulfilling me.
Then, about a year ago, everything changed. I was laid off—just three months shy of my 30th birthday. I remember that moment so clearly. I was unsure of what to do next, but I kept thinking about the promise I had made to myself. It almost felt like a sign—like God was saying, “Why wait? This is your time.”
Despite the fear and uncertainty, I also felt an unexpected sense of relief and freedom. For the first time, I had the space to go all in and see where life would take me if I chose to follow my passion.
At the end of 2024, I decided to take the leap and officially dedicate myself to building my own art and stationery brand—Lovely Lark. I’ve always loved wandering through the stationery aisles, spending way too long choosing the perfect notebook. I used to think, “One day, this could be me.” That thought never left me.
With Lovely Lark, I wanted to combine my love for illustration with my dream of creating beautiful, meaningful products—custom invitations, paper goods, and art that can be part of people’s everyday lives and special moments. I’ve always imagined being more than just an artist—I’ve also had the heart of an entrepreneur.
In a world that can feel overwhelming at times, I believe art and creativity can bring beauty, love, and light. Whether it’s capturing a memory, painting the natural world, or designing a keepsake that marks a special occasion—I want my work to bring even a little bit of joy and meaning into someone’s life.
Art doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful. Even the softest strokes can carry deep emotion and spark happiness. That’s the mission behind everything I create through Lovely Lark: to share beauty, spark joy, and remind people of the magic in the little things.
Love,
Jaqueline
